If you want to have a successful Internet business or any business, their are lots of tasks and responsibilities that need to be done to accomplish your goals. Of all the things you do… what do you think would be your most important task? Well… in my view that would be building an opt in email list. There’s is nothing more important to ensure long-term success and really have the capability to maximize your earning potential while at the same time reducing the amount of work time. Ask anybody that’s doing this successfully and I’m sure they will readily agree.

You learn all the great information on list building from your research and your ready to give it a go. You start using all the methods like a mad man (or mad woman) and you actually build a list, but then it stops right there. You’ve the list, but you still can’t monetize it. Everybody says it’s so easy, but you feel like you’re wasting your time.

In fact you might even be losing money, because of all the expenses to building an opt in email list and maintain that list is more than the profits that you bring in from it.

You think over and over… ‘they state the money is in the list’, but it might only be for the chosen few who are building an opt in email list. They must knows something you don’t because of your total failure to even profit from your list. So you just state forget it and go on to the next massive thing that’s supposed to be making people a bundle of cash on the World wide web

But… I really want you not to give up on this idea, because I really feel the key to having the success you want on the internet is in building a targeted email list. DON’T give up on this important piece of your business.. ever! Learn how to do it, but the right way like anything is the key to making it work.

So what are the challenges holding you back from building an opt in email list? I’m sure you’re already aware that there are several factors that are involved in successfully building an opt in email list and then monetizing it correctly. Other’s have written whole courses and books on the details of this subject, but for the purposes of this article, I’m going to explain how you should be thinking even before you use any list building techniques. If you don’t have these certain approaches, when building an opt in email list, all the techniques in the world won’t help you.

Before even starting a list, like building a home, a solid foundation must be laid for the whole structure to stand for years to come. The foundation of building an opt in email list has 3 mindsets. If you apply these in your list building from the get go, you’ll greatly improve you chances of building an opt in email list the profitable way.

1-It really quality-not quantity.

It might take more effort and thought to methodically attract and add quality subscribers to your list, but it is worth each ounce of sweat to building an opt in email list that’s responsive. Have the mindset of only attracting quality. You may have a smaller list, but even a small highly responsive list will outperform a much more massive low quality list any day of the week.

But of course building quality requires more effort and expertise than just building an opt in email list with anyone on that list. I’m not going to go into detail of the how’s of building as much as sticking with the foundation or mindset for having a targeted email list.

2-A second mindset is speaking to each person on your list on a one to one basis. Many people make the mistake of communicating on a mass scale as if they were in front of a massive group of people giving a speech. Try not to take this approach

Just be personable and when you’re writing an email you’re writing it for just one person. You want them to feel that you are there for them (of course you should be) and you really want to help them. They are on your list for your expertise and help you can provide them. Never give the impression that you’re too massive and important for your prospects.

If you do this when building an opt in email list, you’ll be will light years ahead of most businesses.

3-Develop the perfect system to attract the most targeted prospect and then use that system a million times over. Build your squeeze pages, landing pages, marketing and advertising around this thought to build the optimal list.

Do you know who Ray Crock is? He’s the founder of McDonalds. What a master at applying this mindset. He built and tweaked his restaurant till he was maximizing the profits he was earning. And when he had a winning system, he multiplied the winning concept over and over in the form of franchises.

So don’t just have the mindset of just attracting any one on your list. Create a system to really attract quality prospects and then you’ll have something you can do over an over to really build a great profitable list.

In summary, Building an opt in email list is done one subscriber at a time. Be that ideal communicator for that one person and be that for everyone on your list. Don’t act like a huge shot because you’ll lose prospects. Always be personable and approachable.
