They’ve also heard horror stories about self tanning products and so they’re going to avoid them. They want a professional look and not one everyone can recognize as fake.

For example there are plenty of people out there worried about skin cancer so they want sunless tanning products. Be sure you offer them such as a mist tan or with an airbrush process.

You want them to see their tanning as a value and not as something that eats away at their income. The more you advertise the emotional benefits of tanning the more they will find value in it. For example how they feel, how they look, and even how it improves their moods will get the point across.
Many customers will have questions and you need to be able to answer them. All of the staff you hire needs to be educated in your tanning practices. They need to know what the customer can anticipate. If the staff doesn’t appear to have a clue then you will lose customers. They can be just as clueless at home with self tanning products. They’ll value your tanning salon though if you can be there for them.

Therefore they will be less apt to purchase them. If your staff takes the time thought to discuss the products available that will help each person with their tan based on their skin tone they will be encouraged to buy and use it.
If you pay attention to what is going on with self tanning products, you can advertise in a manner that still gets customers to your tanning salon. There’s still a great market for this type of business so don’t dwell on the issue too much. Instead continue to create ways to get people to see what all you have to offer them. Make sure you have plenty of tanning options so they have the ability to select the one that’ll benefit them the most.
