How long has affiliate marketing been around? Forever, it seems. It hasn’t always been called affiliate marketing. Just about every kind of marketing out there uses the concepts used in affiliate marketing. It is similar to MLM in a lot of ways, but fortunately you don’t have to purchase a monthly product in order to collect commissions like you do with MLM
While you don’t have to spend half of your income on products in Affiliate Marketing to be successful, “time” becomes a valuable commodity no matter how you look at it. And that is true no matter what you decide to do to earn an extra income or replace the one you’ve. If you don’t have the time, don’t begin. I have heard of stories of how some folks get to the top and it isn’t worth it unless nothing else matters to you.
So, what is the real skinny on being successful as an affiliate? One thing of paramount importance is how you write your ads. The headline must be catchier than the next guy you are competing with. To be quite honest with you, I’ve seen some ads from other marketers that equal the headlines of the National Enquirer. You do not want to insult your customers with hype that’s easier to spot than the gray elephant.
Marketing is the key word here, and how affective you are at marketing depends on how successful you are at selling your self. Unfortunately It comes with a price. The price you pay depends on two things, your willingness to fork over big bucks for advertising by way of PPC or other using classifieds or massive print articles that begin at around $2,500 a month.
What about the tools you’re going to need to be successful? The same ones that the majority of marketers use even if they don’t do affiliate marketing. Let’s see there’s the Autoresponder, classified ads, Color ads, Lying, opps, I didn’t mean to state that but I really question the ethics of some marketers and when your customer buys from you and questions you, it is goodbye Johnny boy.
Another thing you must do to increase your revenue swiftly is to get more links on the Internet that point to your website. The reason this is important is because the more links you have, the higher your web page will be returned in the rankings, and the more traffic you’ll receive because of it. Also, when you have links scattered about the World wide web, more people will run across your link and pay your website a visit. You can have your link included on other websites, in forums, blogs, ezine articles, and basically in any part of the web you can think of where another website will post it.
Do these two things to be successful as an affiliate marketer: 1) Create your own web site of the affiliate product you are going to promote. 2) Submit articles promoting your website, this will increase your rankings with back links and supply you with targeted traffic
Information overload is the number one killer of sales in affiliate marketing. I mean we are talking about the site that takes you most of 30 minutes to read and leaves you feeling like you just got done reading a big fat blank when you were done reading it. It kind of reminds me of the guys who are trying to dazzle you with brilliance and have set out to baffle you with BS in the event that the first option didn’t work out too well.
