Squeeze Pages: How To Effectively Boost Your Opt-in Rate

by Raam Anand

Make sure you really know what the whole point of a squeeze page is. It is the marketing effort to get people to sign up for your opt in list. When done properly, they can quickly build multiple lists of members to whom you can offer a variety of products and services. Here are a few method you can use to boost your opt-in rates.

Use multiple squeeze pages – The more squeeze pages you’ve around the World wide web, the better. Just make sure you’ve a one-of-a-kind URL for each. Using multiple pages allows you to target more keywords. By tracking individual squeeze pages, you’ll be able to figure what works and want doesn’t. Tweak the ones that are working and discard the ones that aren’t producing results.

Point out your uniqueness – Tell them why you are different than everyone else. Let them know that you can give them something that nobody else can give them. What separates you from the rest of the crowd? Give your visitors the reason why they have to opt-in to your list.

Explain how to they have the ability to use your offer – Let them know how useful this will be to them. Tell them how you are an expert and quite knowledgeable so you’ll be giving them something of value that they can get a lot of use out of. Supposing you are giving private label rights to one of your publications, tell them what they can do with those rights. In other words, explain “What’s In It For Me”. The benefits your visitor gets when he or she subscribes.

Use pics – Put your picture on there. It has been shown that when people use a picture they get a better response. This is due to the fact that people feel more connected when they see what someone looks like. Make sure it is a good pic. People become uncomfortable when they feel they’re interacting with a software script instead of live human being on the other side of their personal screen.

Use video – For even more impact put a video on your page. Video won’t only let them get to see you in action, but also is much easier on them then having to read a page of copy. You can show the benefits or a demo of what they’re going to get when they subscribe to your form. It is very effective and proven to increase your opt-in rates many times.

Have a simple layout – Do not have strange things all over the page. Make it a easy layout that’s easy to follow. Avoid navigation buttons totally and focus your reader’s attention only on one thing – your opt-in form. Don’t distract their attention to other parts of your website.

State the purpose – Make sure that the visitor knows that point of this page. State it right away. Let them know what they’ll be getting. This is also known as “call to action”. Mention what you want your visitors to do when they come to your squeeze page. Do you want them to provide their name and email? Click a link? Call a phone number? Send you a fax? Tell them.
