Developing a Productivity Formula for YOU
Staying on task, despite interruptions, is tough to do. Your productivity formula will grant you to handle those pesky interruptions as they arise, while staying on track with your target project. This will result in higher productivity and performance. Here are some self help tips to customize your productivity formula.
First of all you need a plan. The tasks on your daily lists should all be smaller parts of your more massive projects and goals; therefore each small task you achieve is moving you closer to the achievement of your larger, long term goals. If upon review you find that your daily projects and your long term projects are not lined up, begin over. You will not succeed until this is in sync.
Prioritize. Once you’ve your short range and long range tasks lined up, prioritize what needs to be done during the day. We tend to think of everything as important, otherwise it wouldn’t be on the list, but some need to be done earlier and some can simply be deferred to the next day if necessary.
Schedule breaks to recharge. Walk around for a few minutes. Stretch. Play a swift game of spyder. Your body and your brain will feel superior and work so much better that you will make up for the lost work time, even exceed it.
Eat lunch. Again, take care of your body. Just because you are working through lunch, does not mean you are producing good quality work. Appreciate the difference and give your body the fuel it needs to recharge and get the job done.
To avoid burnout it is important to keep track of the tasks you complete as you go along because it boosts your confidence and motivation, in addition to keeping in touch with the progress of your work.
Don’t procrastinate. Deal with as many unexpected tasks you can so that you don’t get bogged down later playing catch up. These tasks usually only take a few minutes to complete so deal with them immediately and keep moving forward.
It does not matter whether you’re working on a huge budget project at work or cleaning out your garage at home. Things need to get done. The completion of that work is productivity. Creating a productivity plan for you will put you on track to reaching your maximum success in life, work, and beyond.
