Your Attitude Is Everything When Building An Opt In Email List
If you want to have a successful Internet business or any business, their are lots of tasks and responsibilities that need to be done to accomplish your goals. Of all the things you do… what do you think would be your most important task? Well… in my view that would be building an opt in email list. There’s is nothing more important to ensure long-term success and really have the capability to maximize your earning potential while at the same time reducing the amount of work time. Ask anybody that’s doing this successfully and I’m sure they will readily agree.
You learn all the great information on list building from your research and your ready to give it a go. You start using all the methods like a mad man (or mad woman) and you actually build a list, but then it stops right there. You’ve the list, but you still can’t monetize it. Everybody says it’s so easy, but you feel like you’re wasting your time.
In fact you might even be losing money, because of all the expenses to building an opt in email list and maintain that list is more than the profits that you bring in from it.
You think over and over… ‘they state the money is in the list’, but it might only be for the chosen few who are building an opt in email list. They must knows something you don’t because of your total failure to even profit from your list. So you just state forget it and go on to the next massive thing that’s supposed to be making people a bundle of cash on the World wide web
But… I really want you not to give up on this idea, because I really feel the key to having the success you want on the internet is in building a targeted email list. DON’T give up on this important piece of your business.. ever! Learn how to do it, but the right way like anything is the key to making it work.
So what are the challenges holding you back from building an opt in email list? I’m sure you’re already aware that there are several factors that are involved in successfully building an opt in email list and then monetizing it correctly. Other’s have written whole courses and books on the details of this subject, but for the purposes of this article, I’m going to explain how you should be thinking even before you use any list building techniques. If you don’t have these certain approaches, when building an opt in email list, all the techniques in the world won’t help you.
Before even starting a list, like building a home, a solid foundation must be laid for the whole structure to stand for years to come. The foundation of building an opt in email list has 3 mindsets. If you apply these in your list building from the get go, you’ll greatly improve you chances of building an opt in email list the profitable way.
1-It really quality-not quantity.
It might take more effort and thought to methodically attract and add quality subscribers to your list, but it is worth each ounce of sweat to building an opt in email list that’s responsive. Have the mindset of only attracting quality. You may have a smaller list, but even a small highly responsive list will outperform a much more massive low quality list any day of the week.
But of course building quality requires more effort and expertise than just building an opt in email list with anyone on that list. I’m not going to go into detail of the how’s of building as much as sticking with the foundation or mindset for having a targeted email list.
2-A second mindset is speaking to each person on your list on a one to one basis. Many people make the mistake of communicating on a mass scale as if they were in front of a massive group of people giving a speech. Try not to take this approach
Just be personable and when you’re writing an email you’re writing it for just one person. You want them to feel that you are there for them (of course you should be) and you really want to help them. They are on your list for your expertise and help you can provide them. Never give the impression that you’re too massive and important for your prospects.
If you do this when building an opt in email list, you’ll be will light years ahead of most businesses.
3-Develop the perfect system to attract the most targeted prospect and then use that system a million times over. Build your squeeze pages, landing pages, marketing and advertising around this thought to build the optimal list.
Do you know who Ray Crock is? He’s the founder of McDonalds. What a master at applying this mindset. He built and tweaked his restaurant till he was maximizing the profits he was earning. And when he had a winning system, he multiplied the winning concept over and over in the form of franchises.
So don’t just have the mindset of just attracting any one on your list. Create a system to really attract quality prospects and then you’ll have something you can do over an over to really build a great profitable list.
In summary, Building an opt in email list is done one subscriber at a time. Be that ideal communicator for that one person and be that for everyone on your list. Don’t act like a huge shot because you’ll lose prospects. Always be personable and approachable.
Six Skills Required To Attain Business Profitability: 1-3
If you’re a new business owner, you surely dream of great business profitability. After all, if your business isn’t profitable, it will fail. So before starting down the entrepreneur path, you need to assure that you have the skills you need to build a profitable business.
Six skills are needed to build business profitability:
Financial Skills Needed To Build Business Profitability
Idea Generation Skills Needed To Build Business Profitability
Planning Skills Required To Reach Business Profitability
Management Skills Required To Reach Business Profitability
Marketing Skills Needed To Build Business Profitability
Customer Relations Skills Needed To Build Business Profitability
This article covers financial, idea generation and management skills. The second part of this two-series article will cover planning, marketing, and customer relations skills.
Financial Skills Needed To Build Business Profitability
You may be able to hire someone to do your bookkeeping and accounting, but you’ll still need to know how to read financial reports. You can’t just rely on financial professionals and pretend that your new business will get autopilot profits.
As a business owner, you have to understand financial statements and know what financial terms mean to your business. You also have to use business credit with caution.
You’ll most likely need a small business loan within your first few years of business, but you have to understand your finances well enough to be certain that your business cash flow can make the payments.
You need to be smart enough to carry business insurance to protect your small business resources. And you should consider the effect that profit sharing plans will have on your employees’ motivation to drive business profit.
Idea Generation Skills Required To Reach Business Profitability
As a small business owner, you are the idea man or woman in your business. When starting your own business, you are the one that has to shift through small business opportunities to determine the most profitable business ideas.
Your job also demands generating ideas as you plan your business and marketing. You also need good ideas for maintaining positive customer relations.
Most people starting a small business have no shortage of ideas. It’s the implementation of those ideas that’s hard.
Planning Skills To Build Business Profitability
You have to incorporate your ideas into a thorough business plan, and let that plan guide your actions.
When planning your business growth, you need to get business advice from others who have already succeeded in a similar business. The Small Business Administration’s SCORE program provides free mentoring and coaching by established and retired business owners. So don’t be timid about asking for advice both during and after you’ve completed your business plan.
A business plan is too valuable to just use for getting a loan.
Your business plan is your map to business growth. The financial part of your plan can guide business growth and lead you step-by-step to business profitability. The marketing part of your plan outlines how you will get customers, and your planned policies can assure that you keep them. Your business plan should also outline your business procedures and processes to guide your and your employees’ day-to-day activities.
You need a business plan that will guide your business to growth and business profitability.
Conclusion
Do you have the first three skills needed to achieve business profitability? Can you plan, generate ideas, and understand financial terms and statements? If so congratulations. Now can you manage, market and maintain positive customer relations? These latter skills are covered in part 2 of this two-part article.
Three Mistakes That Waste Small Business Marketing Resources
Are you wasting your precious small business marketing resources and robbing your business of it’s ideal chance for survival and prosperity? Are you guilty of the following small business marketing mistakes?
1. Not investing in small business marketing research.
2. Not identifying the people most inclined to buy your products or services.
3. Failing to create and follow a small business marketing plan.
Small Business Marketing Mistake 1: Not Utilizing Small Business Marketing Research.
Some small business owners think they can’t afford to research their target market, competition and product development. But if you desire to be successful, you can’t afford not to.
Failing to gather the information that this research provides, forces you to base marketing on inaccurate or incomplete data and increases the odds that you’ll waste your marketing efforts.
Without this research, you’ll be more inclined to build a marketing program that lacks focus. Research provides the groundwork to build a strategic marketing plan, to assure that every marketing tactic contributes to your marketing and business goals, and to attract your best potential customers.
Even though small business marketing research is a cost that many small business owners are reluctant to pay, it’s a smart investment that saves wasting resources on marketing to the wrong people. That leads to the second mistake.
Small Business Marketing Mistake 2: Not Identifying The People Most Inclined To Purchase Your Products Or Services.
If you don’t want to waste your marketing resources, you need to pick a target market and direct all your marketing to them. Otherwise, you market to everybody and don’t sell much to anybody.
If you think everybody will want to buy your products or services, you’re just plain wrong, and you’re wasting marketing resources. If you instead take time to identify the people who really need and want what you sell, your marketing efforts will be far more effective.
Thus, your investment in target market research will return you much more in sales, and save you from wasting your marketing money on tactics that don’t work well.
In addition, target market research enables you to:
identify your target market,
gather vital information about this target market, and
design small business marketing campaigns to reach potential customers at least seven times within a year.
Target market research provides small business owners with information about:
the members of your target market,
the kinds of media that reach them,
their information needs and effective appeals to include in marketing messages,
how much money they spend and how to price your product.
By knowing and basing marketing decisions on target market research, you’ll get more return on your marketing investments by eliminating much waste.
Small Business Marketing Mistake 3: Failing To Create And Follow A Small Business Marketing Plan.
The third mistake grows out of the lack of small business marketing research. When small business owners don’t do the research necessary to thoroughly understand what and how marketing strategies should be implemented, they lack focus and easily fall prey to sales people.
If you think that the only reason to have a marketing plan is because lenders want to see one in your business plan, then you are missing a valuable guide for your business and marketing.
This results in failing to determine the marketing strategies and investments that produce the greatest positive return on investment (marketing ROI). Not planning what small business marketing strategies will best lead to marketing goals, leaves small business owners easily distracted by sales people.
In order to keep your marketing efforts on track, you must have a marketing destination. You must know what it will take to get to your marketing goal, or you risk contributing to sales people’s sales goals more than your own business and marketing goals.
You don’t want to buy advertisements that don’t reach your target market just because media sales people are pushing their latest “greatest” promotions.
Likewise, without a marketing plan, you may be persuaded to purchase marketing services and products that aren’t right for your target market. Every penny that you spend on effective marketing is a penny that you no longer have to spend on effective marketing.
Stop Blaming Vending Machines For Overweight People
Are vending machines to blame for people being overweight? The answer to that question depends on who you ask. There are some in our society that tend to blame others for their choices. Fast food locations have been sued for people gaining weight and so it is just a matter of time before the owner’s of vending machines find themselves in the same predicament.
Yet no one is forcing individuals to put their money into vending machines. There’s nothing mandating for this to happen. They’re definitely a convenient way to get food, drinks, or snacks. Yet it is up to the individual what they purchase from it. They may choose a soda over a bottle of water. They may choose a candy bar over a granola bar. It is unreasonable to anticipate vending machines to only have foods that are good for you.
Yet due to this high demand for them that’s what vendors are going to continue stocking. It makes no sense for them to fill a vending machine up with items people aren’t going to buy. The fact that some people buy these unhealthy items from vending machines though day after day is their own choice. They need to make some changes to their mindset about food.
Parents often worry about the image that vending machines provide their kids with though. Therefore they end up putting pressure on the schools to get rid of them. When they school evaluates how many of their students don’t eat a healthy lunch they often agree. So they take out the vending machines yet students can still bring the same foods from home to eat at the school if they want to.
Other schools have compromised and they only allows students to have access to them before and after school. This doesn’t make the owners of the vending machines very happy though. They are certainly missing out on a big volume of sales during the course of the day. Students used to buy snacks and drinks all day long between classes.
This is a prime reason why the owners of such vending machines voluntarily move them. They just aren’t generating enough money from the sales to justify the machine being in place. Since the school is shut for three months out of they year the sales volume needs to be high the rest of the time to compensate for it. When those sales are limited even further it just isn’t cost effective.
There are vending machines out there that do offer very healthy foods and drinks. This means those that do watch their diet can get something out of them as well. If you are starving but on a diet you don’t have to choose to go hungry or to eat something that isn’t good for you. Owners of vending machines are watching to see how such sales go because they still need to make a profit.
The truth is that vending machines aren’t to blame for people being overweight. Poor food choices on a regular basis is. The fact that most kids and adults don’t get sufficient exercise is a factor as well. Due to so many complaints about what’s in some vending machines, some changes have been made. Yet the owners of these machines will often tell you that it is the items full of sugar that often sell out anyway.

Increase Your Profits Through Superior Business Management
You might be a newly promoted entry level manager at a huge corporation. Or, you may be a freshly minted entrepreneur. Alternatively, you could be a seasoned manager with many years experience within the corporate world. What all of you have in common is that you can benefit from superior techniques in business management.
Management can be compared to the game of chess. The basic rules and tenets can be learned in a week, however mastery often takes a lifetime. Leadership is both an innate and learned talent. Some of us are born leaders. Others require much study and practice to assume the mantle of being a business executive.
Oftentimes, especially in a start-up scenario, the leader will often have to wear several hats. No job is beneath a manager of a newly formed business. Leadership is often forged in the crucible of the adversity associated with a fledgling business. Initial employees witnessing their boss down in the trench with them is invaluable in creating and engendering the respect which is requisite for a leader of any entity.
Popular children on the playground are able to relate to and empathize with others. They are able to assume the view and perspective of those around them. This trait is nearly always present in leaders of great businesses. It is impossible to decipher the correct way to properly motivate a given individual if you’re incapable of identifying their particular wants, needs and drivers. Those who remain self focused not taking into account the outlook of the other celebration are not destined for successful management careers.
In war, the highest casualty rate is often suffered by tank commanders. This is because in most armies they lead from the front and are the first to be exposed to enemy fire. In many respects, commerce can draw analogies from war. A good manager leads from the front. No task should be viewed as being beneath them. If the battle becomes intense, the manager should be out front and not hiding behind his staff allocating blame to cover their own behind. Through time, all great managers have maintained this leadership style and consequently retained loyal, hardworking staff devoted to the success of the venture.
From comic strips to TV sitcoms, the communication (or lack thereof) within the business office has been ridiculed. Much of leadership relates to communication, yet most leaders assume their employees can magically read their minds. Being able to effectively communicate tasks, ideas, and more esoteric concepts such as corporate culture is paramount in ensuring the success of any organization. Many managers attempt to communicate with each employee in the exact same style and demeanor. Unless you have a staff of genetic clones, this method will prove disastrous. Each employee is a one-of-a-kind person requiring different management techniques. If this were not so, we’d have a computer program that would be able to manage us all.
Just as there are myriad styles of parenting when it comes to disciplining a child, there exists an equal number of philosophies regarding employee discipline. You look at the important presentation put on your desk for last minute review and see your consulting proposal referring to your firm as “Leaders in Businessmanagement”. Your first instinct is probably to run out of your office screaming at the party in charge of editing. This may prove cathartic, but it ends up being counterproductive in the end. Doling out discipline behind shut doors is just one small tenet of effective staff management within a long list.
An effective manager wears many hats. At points they must play the part of disciplinarian vice principal. Other times they are a financial analyst. They often must become experts in subjects ranging from telecommunication plans to office lease rates. The realm of knowledge required for successful business management often can seem limitless. The best managers never stop studying, learning and attempting to continuously upgrade their techniques.
In time, you will develop your own style as a manager which best suits your personality. Unfortunately, most often the only way to learn is through the trial and error method. Learn from your mistakes. Seek guidance from a mentor. Avail yourself to the world of free resources that exist at your fingertips on the web. No matter how long you’ve been managing people there’s always more to learn.
Are You a Novice Who Would Like to Make a Web Site?
Now is the ideal time in history for small businesses, because of the Internet. You can reach customers anywhere in the world from your living room. All you need is an idea and a Web site. But you don’t know how to make a Web site–yet!
Access to the world’s marketplace isn’t the only huge change. Traditional jobs are becoming scarcer. Maybe your job future doesn’t look as assured as it once did. This is a good reason to look at income from a small business. In fact, there are entrepreneurs out there who have made a lot of money from the World wide web.
But you’re a novice, and you aren’t moving on this idea. Plus, you think you can’t afford a Web site.
Making a Web site is easy for novices these days. There are plenty of World wide web businesses set up to create a template Web site, so you don’t even have to learn HTML. But there’s a drawback–without HTML, you don’t know what you need to know to manage your Web site! You will need to know at least a bit of this formatting language for Web sites. As Webmaster you’ll need to add affiliate links and shopping carts, not to mention clickable ads, if you want your site to earn money.
Learn HTML? Isn’t that like learning a programming language? Isn’t it hard? The answer is, no it isn’t really a programming language. It’s a formatting language. And it’s really not hard at all. The basic principles are very easy. Here’s another bonus for you: you don’t need to know very much HTML at all to do what you need to for a simple Web site.
You’ll need special software that makes both the HTML code and the Web site as it looks in a browser. There are three alternatives for you: Macromedia Dreamweaver, the most high-priced at several hundred dollars; Microsoft Front Page, a simpler piece of software that you can buy for around $100; and Nvu, which costs you nothing. Nvu is open-source software. Open-source software is available for free; those who create and maintain it donate their time, often to provide us with an alternative to Microsoft.
Another expense for you is Web hosting. When you purchase Web hosting, you’re actually renting space on a server. There are plenty of hosting companies out there, many offering fancy solutions that you as a novice don’t need. There are hosting companies offering inexpensive solutions, too. For example, you can find a Web hosting company that will give you both hosting and domain registration for about $25 per year. Domain registration is something else you need–reserving your domain name, such as www.mywebsite.com. Usually it costs under $10 by itself. Try this: put “cheap domain hosting” into a search engine and look for user-friendly and easy solutions.
E-books are becoming more and more common. When you buy an ebook, you’re paying for the information in it, pure and easy. In fact, that’s all it is, information. You’ve to provide the printer if you want a hard copy. E-books are popular because they provide information instantly–something that folks in our culture are happy to pay for. In fact, you may be able to find an e-book on how to use Nvu.

You do want to take your time to see what your options are so you can make the reservations in time. Many of the top bed & breakfasts do sell out each night so you want to be prepared for that.

You can get away from the various stresses and responsibilities in your life though and just relax. Keep in mind that these locations for bed & breakfast facilities are often high-priced though.
Maybe you want to explore something that is absolutely out of your element. For example if you life in town you can go to one that’s on some farm land. The open spaces and the clean air will be a huge change. If you’re used to that kind of lifestyle then why not stay at a bed & breakfast that is in the city?
There are beautiful bed & breakfast locations out in the middle of nowhere. Here you will be able to like the beauty of the land. One key piece of advice though is to plan your bed & breakfast travels well in advance. Some of them are very well known and that makes them difficult to get into. I have seen some that are part of a desolate island. You can be sure there’s a long waiting list for them. People tend to find them very mysterious as well as romantic.
Others are part of old lighthouses. Those are historical markers that many people find to be quite fascinating. So you can easily get yourself a reservation at such a very special bed & breakfast if you take the time to plan early enough. Make sure you compare prices too so you can get something that you love that also fits well into your budget.
There are lots of great ways to find the perfect bed & breakfast location for you to explore. When it comes to selecting the right bed & breakfast, the atmosphere around it is often as important as the location. It can be quite a thrilling adventure to get out there and see what is available. Don’t forget to ask other people where they have stayed too because they may have some great stories to share with you.
The Many Functions Of A Coffee Shop
A coffee shop is more than just a place to get a drink. If you are seeing it for only that then you’re certainly missing out. I’ve a very busy day most of the time but I tend to like it. I seem to thrive on staying busy and I don’t know what to do with myself if I come across too much free time. Yet it is important to balance out the day with some time to rest and be with your own thoughts.
This is one of the best places in town where you can do something like that. Try to go to the coffee shop in the late morning or the early afternoon. This way you can avoid the crowds. You won’t have to stand in a long line to get served. You also won’t have to wait around for a table to open up where you can sit down.
In my book, the money I spend for afternoon coffee and to relax in the atmosphere is money well spent. It definitely improves my mood and that tends to keep my entire family happier. Sometimes I go to a different coffee shop just depending on where In am in town. If I’m in a certain mood the decor of one might appeal to me more than others.
I never feel rushed while resting in these coffee shops. I can sit with a book or magazine and forget what’s going on around me. I have seen some individuals in the coffee shops doing work, balancing their checkbook, and even working on their laptop. I tend to keep it easy though so that I can unwind. Sometimes I’ll write letters to friends though as that isn’t something I always have time for otherwise.
Hanging out at a coffee shop isn’t just something I do alone either. It is a great place to meet a friend to catch up. Sometimes my husband and I’ll go to one an hour before the children get out of school. It gives us time to relax and talk without distractions or interruptions. We can have a serious speak or just laugh and enjoy each others company for a while.
Some individuals are intimidated to enter a coffee shop to just hang out. Yet you need to understand they want you to do so. Otherwise they wouldn’t have tables and chairs in the place to rest. You may start to see several familiar faces too when you go to such coffee shops. There are plenty of regulars that stop in for afternoon coffee and some quiet time.
There are several other benefits to hanging out at your local coffee shops as well. You can choose new drinks to expand your taste buds. You can also get in there and sit down without having to deal with a crowd. You may find that the staff is able to interact with you more during these slower times of the day as well.
The time you spend hanging out at a coffee shop needs to be for your own well being though. Even if you can only commit to a hour a couple of times each day you need to do so. I’ve found it to be a great way to relax my mind and even to give my body some down time. It has proven to be a great way for me to have more energy for my family in the evening.
